Case Study Background:
16 production lines, with a planned increase of 20 more our client was keen to ensure that all of their existing and new production operators were operating the machines safely. SSB were asked to review existing production line SOP's and develop new SOP's for the 20 planned new production lines.
SSB worked with the existing production operators to understand how the machines were currently operated, cross-referenced this with the manufacturers guidance, and then reviewed the SOP's to ensure compliance with the manufacturers instruction.
Identification of Existing Practices
SSB spoke with existing operators to understand how the machines were currently operated, any short-cuts being used and problems. This allowed us to understand specific issues and develop SOPs to address them.
Template Development
Working with our client we developed a standardized template for all existing and new production lines. An agreed template with the staff and management increased buy-in and allowed for readability.
Client Confidence
Once our client approved the template and SOP's we were able to complete the SOP's for a total of 36 production lines. Coupled with training delivered by the client's management this increased our clients confidence within their processes and procedures.
